Internal lubrication: Microcrystalline wax molecules disperse between polymer chains in the melt, reducing intermolecular friction and thereby lowering melt viscosity. This facilitates smoother processing, conserves energy, and minimises equipment wear.
External lubrication: Microcrystalline wax migrates to the interface between the melt and processing equipment, forming a lubricating film that prevents melt adhesion to metal surfaces.
Improved demoulding properties
This is a direct manifestation of external lubrication. In processes such as injection moulding, extrusion, and calendering, it significantly enhances the efficiency of part ejection from moulds, reduces demoulding defects, increases production efficiency, and extends mould service life.
