1. Lubrication represents micro-wax's principal function, categorised into internal and external lubrication.
Internal lubrication: Wax molecules disperse within the plastic melt, reducing friction between polymer chains and thereby lowering melt viscosity.
External lubrication: Wax molecules migrate to the interface between the melt and processing equipment (such as moulds and screws), forming a lubricating film.
Improved demoulding properties facilitate easier removal of products from moulds, reducing scrap rates.
Enhanced surface finish yields smoother, more lustrous products.
2. Significant wear resistance and anti-slip properties
When incorporated into engineering plastics, micronized wax forms a micro-lubricating layer on the product surface, lowering the surface friction coefficient.
Application examples: Components requiring frequent motion and friction, such as gears, bearings, sliders, and guide rails, benefit significantly from micronized wax addition, which substantially extends their service life.
